Assistant Prosecutor

Job Overview

This role involves performing specialized duties within the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases. Tasks include handling interrogations, witness hearings, inspections, delegation of expert assessments, and issuing legal documents such as summonses, arrest and search warrants, pretrial detention orders, release orders, and final case disposals. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for referring accused individuals to the relevant courts when sufficient evidence exists and representing the prosecution in court proceedings under the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai.

Key Duties

• Investigate and resolve felony, misdemeanor, and violation cases received from police stations.
• Manage requests related to rehabilitation and determine their outcomes.
• Decide whether to open criminal investigations based on evidence and complaints.
• Address grievances concerning decisions not to open investigations.
• Review and decide on opinion files related to criminal cases.
• Authorize the issuance of arrest and search warrants within jurisdictional boundaries.
• Handle appeals against prosecutors' decisions and address complaints from auditors and clients.
• Respond to inquiries and requests from police regarding ongoing cases.
• Conduct inspections of detention facilities in line with approved procedures and document findings in reports.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Candidate must hold citizenship of the United Arab Emirates.
• Age must be between 21 and 28 years.
• Exemplary reputation and character are required.
• Candidates must be medically fit as certified by relevant authorities.
• Completion of national service is mandatory for male applicants.
• Applicants are required to pass all requisite tests and interviews successfully.
• Must comprehend the significance of the role and be ready to undertake its responsibilities.
• A university degree in law from an accredited institution with at least a 'Good' GPA.
• Possession of a valid English language certificate equivalent to TOEFL 500 or IELTS 5.
