About the Role
This position entails supporting Project Managers in overseeing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Project Managers to plan and carry out construction activities across all phases.
- Apply and uphold corporate policies and organizational structures tailored to assigned operational divisions.
- Participate in evaluating project plans to set timelines, work schedules, budgets, and project completion procedures.
- Interact as required with clients and subcontractors to maintain communication and project coordination.
- Manage submission of correspondence, shop drawings, schedules, submittals, and other documentation to client contacts under guidance from Project Managers.
- Oversee financial elements including project invoicing, payments to subcontractors and suppliers, equipment rental costs, income and expenses, and work-in-progress tracking.
- Ensure strict compliance with company, client, and project policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site staff to promptly resolve construction-related challenges.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth to foster individual and team innovation and efficiency.
- Assume additional duties proactively or when assigned by senior personnel.
- Maintain strong competence in construction-related and computer technologies.
- Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Bid Build (Hard $), P6, and cost control and forecasting platforms effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders including clients, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Perform accurate mathematical tasks related to project quantity take-offs, cost estimating, and change order calculations.
- Operate various company vehicles safely as required.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to address project issues.
- Manage and coordinate schedules to ensure timely completion of essential responsibilities.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Employer-paid benefits for employees and their dependents include medical, dental, and vision coverage after approximately 90 days. Additional benefits include short and long term disability insurance, profit sharing 401(k) with immediate vesting and 5% employer contribution, as well as a company vehicle and company cell phone.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, though significant relevant experience will also be considered.
- A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the required work is acceptable.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, and forecasting is advantageous.
Work Environment
- The role involves both office-based work and exposure to outdoor conditions such as inclement weather, heat, humidity, dust, exhaust fumes, and similar factors.
- Tasks may require proximity to moving machinery and mechanical parts.
- Frequent driving and navigation to various project locations will be necessary.
Special Requirements
- Candidates must pass controlled substance testing prior to and throughout employment.
- A valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.
