The Assistant Manager position at Greenlands Residential Service in Ballina, Co. Mayo, offers a permanent, full-time role of 39 hours per week. This is a Social Care Worker grade role that includes leadership and active participation in personalized care provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in local service planning to innovatively meet evolving service demands.
- Deliver personal care and practical support ensuring individuals' wellbeing.
- Maintain a respectful and safe working environment adhering to all health and safety protocols as well as dignity policies.
- Promote safety consistently across all environments following organisational guidelines.
- Employ positive strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours aligned with established policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Social Care Worker registration with CORU or a recognized qualification under CORU's approved categories with evidence of ongoing registration application.
- A genuine dedication to assisting individuals in achieving meaningful opportunities and changes.
- Experience working with person- and family-centered approaches, especially with complex needs.
- Strong appreciation for equality, inclusion, and improving quality of life.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and supervisory expertise.
- Ability to advocate respectfully for individual's rights and preferences.
- Understanding of budget management and financial responsibilities within service environments.
- Knowledge of New Directions (Day Services) and HIQA standards and regulations.
- Flexibility to meet service demands and proficiency with IT systems is preferable.
- Possession of a full driver's license and compliance with Garda Vetting and reference checks.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants outside the EU must provide valid work authorization.
- Individuals residing outside Ireland or Northern Ireland for over six months since age 16 require Overseas Police Clearance.
