Position Overview
The Assistant Manager Electrical will support the Associate Director of Power and Desalination Plant in overseeing all electrical operations and maintenance of a 42 MW captive power generation facility along with related auxiliary systems and electrical distribution networks across the manufacturing plants. The role demands ensuring continuous power supply, managing maintenance of gas engines, turbines, transformers, and other electrical equipment, supervising a multidisciplinary team, and complying with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee uninterrupted power supply to factory premises, administrative offices, accommodation, and other facilities.
- Oversee electrical operation and servicing of the 42 MW captive power plant, including gas engines and turbines.
- Maintain auxiliary equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors, boilers, heat exchangers, and control systems.
- Manage electrical power import and distribution networks including substations, RMUs, transformers, ensuring optimum performance and reliability.
- Review electrical schematics and power distribution diagrams to monitor and manage network operations effectively.
- Report power generation, consumption, and import data to senior management accurately.
- Lead electrical cable laying projects, authorize excavation works with appropriate NOCs, and conduct electrical calculations for distribution design.
- Supervise a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians to implement efficient and cost-effective maintenance procedures.
- Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and safety standards, supporting electrical audits jointly with the HSE department.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance and manage any breakdown repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain proper stock levels of electrical spares and consumables to support maintenance activities.
- Promote operational excellence by ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electrical plant operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering accompanied by 5 to 8 years of experience managing power plants with expertise in gas engines and turbines. Proven skills in maintaining and operating high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems, including substations, RMUs, transformers and protection devices, as well as electrical control circuits, are essential. The candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities, strong communication, analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and operational planning.
