Role Overview
The Assistant Finance Manager will play a crucial role in managing comprehensive accounting and finance operations, closely working with Southeast Asia (SEA) country finance teams and supporting directives from the Onitsuka Tiger Headquarters (OHQ). This position is responsible for delivering accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end and year-end closing activities by managing the outsourcing team, overseeing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Collaborate in the budgeting and forecasting process for Onitsuka Tiger Asia Pacific (OAP), working alongside the SEA Regional Finance Manager and OAP Business Management team to formulate and track financial plans.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to offer actionable insights and recommendations to SEA members and OHQ for fostering business expansion and profit optimization within the region.
- Assist in providing regular financial reporting updates, budgeting, forecasting, and detailed analysis in conjunction with the Regional Finance Manager and OHQ Business Management department.
- Maintain uniformity in financial reporting and analytical methods throughout the organization by coordinating with OHQ.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external parties, including auditors and tax consultants.
- Ensure strict adherence to local finance and accounting regulations, including taxation and financial reporting standards.
- Support the finance team through leadership, guidance, coaching, and team development efforts.
- Engage in ERP and system implementation projects, process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, automation within finance functions, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify opportunities for process optimization by working cross-functionally to streamline reporting and strengthen financial controls.
- Manage ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in finance or accounting positions.
- Professional accounting certification preferred (such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalents).
- Comprehensive knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for effective collaboration.
- Experience with ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI are advantageous.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a rapidly evolving business environment.
- Detail-oriented and capable of functioning effectively within a team setting.
