Position Overview

We are seeking an Area Security Coordinator to assist in implementing our corporate security strategy throughout the Middle East and Asia region, with location flexibility between Jakarta, Manila, and Singapore. This role is ideal for a security expert passionate about safeguarding personnel, infrastructure, and assets while facilitating successful business operations within a diverse international setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of Wärtsilä's corporate security program across multiple countries and sites in the assigned area.
  • Coordinate and oversee compliance with corporate security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct and assist with physical and site security risk assessments.
  • Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and operational risks related to personnel, facilities, and business operations.
  • Support incident management processes, investigations, corrective measures, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Manage security-related administrative processes including travel security, incident documentation, and site security records.
  • Collaborate closely with local stakeholders, Managing Directors, site teams, and leadership to provide expert security advice.
  • Oversee relationships with local security service providers and external partners.
  • Assist in maintaining access control, video surveillance, and other physical security systems aligned with corporate specifications.
  • Monitor regional security developments, escalating relevant risks and incidents promptly.
  • Provide security support and guidance to business travelers, visitors, and local teams.
  • Contribute to raising security awareness, conducting training, emergency response preparedness, and enhancing business continuity measures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven background in corporate security, physical security, security operations, or risk management.
  • Preferably a police or military background with relevant corporate security experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Security and Risk Management, Security Studies, Criminology, Risk Management, Business Continuity, or related disciplines is advantageous.
  • Experience in performing security risk assessments and enacting risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of incident management, investigative procedures, crisis response, and security governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with physical security tools such as access control systems and surveillance technology.
  • Strong communication and cross-cultural stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence diverse business groups.
  • Experience operating across multiple countries or sites within a regional context.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to work autonomously managing various priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive mindset coupled with sound professional judgment in addressing security concerns.
