Job Overview
As an Area Manager within UAE Fulfillment Center operations, you will be responsible for leading a large team to ensure the operational pace meets demand targets. This hands-on role involves managing diverse teams, analysing performance, promoting safety, and collaborating with other managers to standardize shift processes. Your job will combine daily team leadership with process improvement and operational planning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain a strong culture of safety and employee wellbeing.
- Evaluate operational quality and productivity; implement corrective measures to meet business goals across shifts.
- Manage and support your team while handling administrative duties and nurturing a positive team culture.
- Analyze performance metrics and propose process enhancements that optimize workflows and improve customer service.
- Coordinate with fellow managers to align and standardize shift operations.
Daily Activities
Your work will be shift-based at an operational site, focusing on upholding safety standards and maintaining efficient processes. Daily tasks will include regular team management, operational responsibilities, addressing escalations, process improvements, and contingency planning. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential to meet customer demand and service targets, supported by data analysis and performance review.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year managing employees and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; alternatively, 2 or more years of experience as a full-time employee with Amazon.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of 1 year or more in performance metrics, process improvements, or lean methodologies.
- Physical capability to push and pull wheeled dollies with loads up to 100 pounds during shifts.
