Role overview

HARMAN Lifestyle is looking for a General Accounting Analyst to support core accounting operations and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. The position involves handling journal entries, month-end and quarter-end close tasks, account reconciliations, compliance support, and audit coordination. You will also work with the line manager, assist teammates, and contribute to steady service delivery across global teams.

This role sits within a global, cross-functional environment where you will collaborate with colleagues across regions and business units while working independently within established procedures.

What you'll do

• Work with global teams across different geographies and HARMAN businesses, following documented processes and supporting junior colleagues when needed.
• Coordinate with teams inside and outside GSSC, provide backup support to team members and the line manager, and help maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Support global General Ledger activities, including revenue completeness checks and month-end and quarter-end close processes.
• Prepare, post, and review regular and ad hoc journal entries such as accruals, provisions, reserves, reclassifications, and recharges, while maintaining GL master data in SAP.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolve open items on time, and prepare monthly or quarterly balance sheet commentaries and tax packages.
• Review journals, reconciliations, and recurring tasks completed by team members, making sure documentation is complete and control requirements are met.
• Maintain strong compliance standards by supporting internal and external audits, preserving control documentation, and responding to audit queries with the team and line manager.
• Contribute to process improvements, special projects, and other ad hoc assignments as required.

Success profile

The position calls for a seasoned accounting professional with strong General Ledger expertise, sound knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. The ideal candidate is self-driven, quick to learn, and comfortable working with stakeholders across functions and time zones.

Required experience and strengths

• 6 to 8 years of relevant General Ledger accounting experience.
• Strong accounting knowledge with a solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Clear written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proactive, fast-learning mindset with strong communication ability.
• Advanced use of MS Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal capabilities.
• Good relationship-building skills for working with colleagues and stakeholders.

Good to have

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Master’s degree or a higher accounting qualification.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Previous experience in shared services or BPO environments.

• Must be comfortable working in a hybrid setup that combines office collaboration with remote flexibility.
• Should be able to work across EU, US, and APAC time zones and meet strict deadlines.
• Needs a strong eye for detail, along with proven multitasking and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work effectively across functional teams to complete tasks successfully.
