Role overview
Harman International India Pvt. Ltd. is hiring an Advanced Finance Analyst in Bengaluru. The role sits within the general accounting and reporting area and involves close coordination with global teams across multiple geographies and across HARMAN businesses.
What you will do
- Handle routine work independently by following documented procedures and instructions.
- Partner with the general accounting and reporting team and support the line manager on day-to-day activities.
- Provide backup coverage for selected teammates whenever assigned by the line manager.
Period-end close responsibilities
- Create and post journal entries for regular and special items such as accruals, provisions, reserves, recharges, and reclassifications.
- Reconcile important general ledger accounts to confirm that the balance sheet does not contain unusual balances.
- Keep general ledger accounts, cost centers, WBS elements, and related master data updated in SAP.
- Track AUC general ledgers on a regular basis to ensure assets are capitalized on time.
- Compute rebates, commissions, royalties, and similar amounts.
- Work with Accounts Receivable to issue credit invoices.
- Submit financial results into the HARMAN consolidation platform.
Balance sheet reconciliation
- Reconcile balance sheet general ledger accounts using standard templates and prepare aging analysis where needed.
- Document open items together with action plans and expected closure dates.
- Coordinate with item owners to drive timely closure of pending matters.
Compliance and audit
- Review and refresh control documentation on a periodic basis.
- Make sure all tasks meet compliance requirements with zero deficiencies.
- Support the line manager in responding to internal and external audit requests.
What it takes to succeed
This position calls for a strong accounting background, practical experience in record-to-report work, and a solid grasp of US GAAP and IFRS. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling stakeholders, working with charts of accounts and cost objects, and taking ownership of the responsibilities assigned. Strong communication, presentation, and Microsoft Office skills are also important.
