About Waylands MG
Waylands MG, located in Oxford, is experiencing growth and seeks an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join the expanding team at their new MG dealership. Role Overview
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for processing and reconciling daily bank transactions across various businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance with procedures, and supporting month-end tasks. This role requires working efficiently in a fast-paced setting while liaising with different departments to enhance communication and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and transaction postings
- Scan and enter purchase ledger invoices into the system
- Clear unallocated payments on the purchase ledger
- Record and reconcile petty cash transactions
- Reconcile supplier statements and verify sublet purchase invoices when needed
- Manage credit control tasks
- Process monthly BACS payments
- Conduct sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
- Execute additional month-end duties as directed by the Accountant
- Participate in ad hoc projects prompted by the Accountant
- Collaborate with other departments to improve internal systems and communication
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in accounts or finance roles is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication skills, capable of working effectively with non-finance teams
- Analytical mindset with excellent written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and ability to review own work critically
- Quick to understand and follow established processes
