Vulnerability Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vulnerability Analyst for a remote contract position with flexible working hours ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week. Compensation ranges between $30 to $90 per hour depending on expertise. This position involves executing comprehensive security assessments including penetration testing and vulnerability analysis across networks, applications, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed penetration tests and simulated attacks to identify security vulnerabilities.
• Conduct extensive vulnerability assessments, interpret results, and prioritize risks based on severity and potential exploitability.
• Engage with stakeholders to establish testing scopes aligned with business goals.
• Produce clear, thorough documentation of findings and deliver reports suitable for both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.
• Create practical remediation plans and advise teams on effective implementation strategies.
• Continuously update knowledge on new security threats, attack techniques, and best practices in the cybersecurity field.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in ethical hacking, penetration testing, and vulnerability evaluation techniques.
• Strong familiarity with security protocols, frameworks, and popular tools like Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
• Deep understanding of network, application, and cloud security principles.
• Experience in social engineering and physical security assessments is an advantage.
• Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or GPEN are strongly preferred.
