Train Cleaner

About The Role

As a Train Cleaner, your primary responsibility will be to ensure trains are kept clean and hygienic, creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for both passengers and staff. This position is essential for preserving the trains' upkeep and positive public perception.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute regular cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness inside trains.
• Identify and report any damage, graffiti, or vandalism to the relevant authorities for swift action.
• Monitor inventory and restock cleaning supplies to guarantee availability of materials required for daily operations.
• Observe all safety standards and protocols to maintain a secure workplace.
• Handle and dispose of cleaning chemicals and waste in accordance with established procedures.

Candidacy Requirements

• Right to Work in the UK is mandatory.
• Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• Availability to work night shifts and weekends is required.

Additional Details

• Candidates must pass a medical exam and drug and alcohol screening prior to employment.
• Completion of Depot Track Safety (DTS) training course will be required.
• Free travel on South Western Railway (SWR) trains to and from work is provided.
