Telecommunication Service / Commissioning Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and driven Telecommunication Service / Commissioning Engineer with a solid background in oil and gas. In this role, you will join a project team focused on delivering dependable telecom solutions for complex offshore and onshore facilities. Your contribution will help ensure these systems are engineered, commissioned and handed over to a high standard while supporting major FEED and EPIC assignments in the Middle East and beyond.

This is a full-time onsite position based mainly in Qatar and the wider Middle East, with travel opportunities to Denmark and Singapore. International travel should be expected.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service and commissioning work for telecom systems on FEED and EPIC projects.
• Support fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning and final handover of telecom packages.
• Perform FAT, SAT, installation verification and commissioning checks for telecom equipment and systems.
• Assist lead commissioning engineers and project managers with day-to-day project delivery.
• Review, prepare and approve drawings, technical documents and contractor submissions.
• Ensure all work follows health, safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering.
• 12–15 years of telecom commissioning experience, including 8–10 years in offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Hands-on technical knowledge of CCTV, UHF/VHF radios, PA/GA, PABX, IP telephony, telemetry, AIS, ACS, LAN/WAN, fiber optic structured cabling, TETRA radio systems and network management systems.
• Experience delivering FEED and EPIC projects, including greenfield and brownfield work, from engineering through commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, HSE rules and risk controls, including HAZID and SIMOPS.
• A proactive, accountable and well-organized working style with the ability to stay effective under pressure.
• Comfortable working independently as well as within a project team.
• Advantageous: offshore survival certification such as BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS and Basic H2S.
• Advantageous: strong planning, multitasking and resource coordination skills.
• Advantageous: clear communication and technical documentation skills.
• Advantageous: practical experience with MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio and AutoCAD.

Additional Information

The role is full-time and onsite. Work is primarily based at offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities in Qatar and the Middle East, with possible assignments in Denmark and Singapore. International travel is part of the role.
