Role Overview

The General Maintenance & Facilities Assistant is essential in sustaining a safe, orderly, and clean environment throughout the site to support smooth daily operations. This role involves facility upkeep, infrastructure maintenance, and promoting safety for staff, visitors, and contractors. You will engage in housekeeping, landscaping, maintenance assistance, and uphold health and safety standards to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and housekeeping across assigned zones.
• Conduct sweeping and cleaning of internal and external roadways.
• Undertake landscaping duties such as watering, trimming, pruning, weeding, and monitoring irrigation systems.
• Assist in pest control activities and promptly report infestations.
• Clean conveyors, transfer stations, IBA zones, and related process areas.
• Manage proper waste collection, sorting, and disposal per site protocols.
• Carry out routine inspections and report any damages or unusual conditions.
• Support basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) maintenance tasks as supervised.
• Operate cleaning tools, equipment, and machinery with safety.
• Complete assigned jobs within scheduled timelines.
• Maintain accurate records, checklists, and logs of activities.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines, including permit-to-work and site safety rules.
• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
• Contribute to emergency response and site recovery efforts as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• Solid understanding of HSE practices and capacity to work safely in operational settings.
• Proven experience in housekeeping, cleaning, landscaping, and general facility support.
• Ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions efficiently within deadlines.
• Detail-oriented approach, committed to maintaining clean and safe work environments.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team under fast-paced conditions.
• Good communication skills with a proactive attitude toward identifying defects, hazards, and maintenance needs.
• Minimum four years' prior experience in a comparable position.
