Job Overview
RFNOW seeks an experienced and customer-focused Technical Support Technician to join their internet service provider team. This role involves delivering expert assistance to subscribers by resolving connectivity challenges and ensuring excellent service quality.
Key Duties
- Address customer queries concerning internet connectivity through phone, email, and chat platforms.
- Identify and resolve diverse technical problems involving network setups, modem/router configurations, IPTV, VOIP, and wireless connections.
- Provide customers with clear, stepwise guidance to troubleshoot internet issues.
- Support email client setups and help clients overcome email-related difficulties.
- Conduct remote diagnostics and repair tasks on client devices when feasible.
- Refer intricate technical issues to specialized internal teams for resolution.
- Keep detailed records of client interactions and technical fixes within ticketing and billing systems.
- Ensure customer communications reflect positively on RFNOW and coincide with company principles, responding promptly.
- Continuously update knowledge on internet technologies and ISP offerings through ongoing education.
- Offer clients detailed information about RFNOW's internet products and services.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in technical support, ideally within ISP or telecom sectors.
- In-depth understanding of internet protocols, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting strategies.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile platforms.
- Proficiency in using remote desktop tools and help desk software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Patient and empathetic approach toward customer service.
- Ability to simplify complex technical information effectively for customers.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, covering evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Technical certifications like CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are advantageous.
- Knowledge of VOIP and IPTV systems.
- Experience with fiber optic internet technologies.
