Role Overview
Join Wellington Water as a Team Leader - Drainage, overseeing crews tasked with maintaining vital drainage infrastructure. This permanent, full-time position based at Pomare Depot offers a chance to lead a crucial service that ensures community health and safety through dependable drainage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead teams responsible for drainage maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
- Coordinate to balance high-quality service delivery, environmental considerations, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage work activities leveraging technology and systems for effective execution.
- Participate in an on-call escalation roster as required.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants will have a background in drainage, water, or civil infrastructure operations and demonstrated leadership experience. Key attributes include strong planning, problem-solving, communication skills, and dedication to health, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing teams in operational or infrastructure settings.
- Practical knowledge in drainage or pipeline operations.
- Strong coordination and problem-solving capabilities.
- Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.
- NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 4) – Pipeline Construction & Maintenance or equivalent operational leadership experience.
- Level 5 qualification or progress towards it is desirable.
