About the role
As a Support Worker, you’ll help people build everyday independence and strengthen the skills they need for daily life. The work can involve a mix of daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, and the exact support you provide will depend on each person’s needs and level of ability.
Typical duties can include helping with transport, work-related activities, budgeting and finances, meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, personal care such as showering, and administering medication.
This position calls for good physical stamina, resilience, and the confidence to manage risk and respond calmly in more difficult situations. With the right attitude, you can play an important part in creating a supportive setting where real progress can happen.

What you’ll bring
- No previous experience in health and disability support is required, but a genuine interest in becoming a Support Worker and a positive approach are highly valued.
- Training and orientation will be provided for people who are eager to learn and show enthusiasm.
- You need to be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
- You should be comfortable using computers and tablets every day.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills are important.
- You must have the physical fitness needed to provide hands-on support.
- A full New Zealand driver licence is required.
