Role overview

This full-time permanent Support Coordinator role is based in Rockhampton, Queensland. The position focuses on assisting NDIS participants to build independence by understanding their needs, connecting them with suitable supports, and helping them use their NDIS plans effectively.

What the role involves

• Assess participant needs and identify the services and supports required to help them work toward their goals.
• Coordinate supports with participants and ensure their NDIS plans are used to their full potential.
• Recognise barriers and develop practical action plans to address them.
• Build positive working relationships with participants, their families and external providers.
• Travel as required to meet participants.
• Support participants in discussions with providers about service offerings and the budget they need to allocate from their NDIS funds.
• Work to billable hour expectations and performance targets.
• Ensure service agreements are prepared and completed.
• Take a broad, capacity-building approach to help participants overcome challenges.

Experience and skills needed

• Hands-on experience with the NDIS and a strong understanding of NDIS plans and budgets.
• Background in billing targets and case note documentation.
• Solid administration experience, along with compliance awareness and strong IT capability, especially in Excel.
• A strong people-focused approach, with experience in disability services preferred and the ability to build trust with participants, families and providers.
• Commercial thinking combined with a strong customer service mindset.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
