About the Role
The Supply Chain Planner position is a contracted role based in Toronto, ON, primarily onsite, for six months at an hourly rate between CAD 33.65 and 36.00. This role focuses on developing, analyzing, and executing the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, ensuring procurement needs are effectively communicated to vendors. The planner will manage inventory levels, align procurement plans with forecasts, and maintain supply chain process efficiencies to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate Marketing forecast data into procurement and capacity plans while managing Planning Bills, Min/Max levels, Forecasts, and Safety Stock to meet service level targets.
- Communicate 30- to 90-day procurement schedules to vendors and monitor adherence with weekly follow-ups.
- Oversee approximately $7 million in inventory to support Fill Rate and inventory investment targets; analyze inventory levels monthly and adjust policies as needed.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Quality, and suppliers to manage slow-moving inventory and non-conforming materials.
- Develop and adjust inventory and procurement schedules based on historical data and forecasts; coordinate changes with Marketing and client locations.
- Ensure manufacturing and purchase orders are planned and executed timely to achieve customer fill rate goals, analyze failures, and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize planning techniques such as min/max levels, safety stock, and planning bills; approve purchase orders ensuring promise date alignment and communicate with suppliers to address quality and delivery issues.
- Support cost reduction initiatives including premium freight minimization and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain compliance with company ethical policies, safety regulations, and participate in training and collaborative initiatives.
- Report equipment, workplace hazards, and quality nonconformities promptly; contribute to operational excellence and lean system approaches.
Qualifications & Skills
- University degree or college diploma in Business or Materials Management.
- Certification from CAPIC or APICS is required.
- 2 to 5 years of experience with ERP, materials, or logistics environments.
- Strong proficiency in purchasing and accounting policies for products and systems.
- Advanced skills in data analysis, problem-solving, MS Office, and database use.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication capabilities.
- Ability to learn and use multiple support systems for planning and supplier management.
Work Environment & Terms
- Contract tenure is six months onsite in Toronto.
- Overtime may be required per company policies and legal requirements.
- Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
