Student Support Assistant - Multiple Locations Across UAE

About the Role

We are urgently seeking energetic and dependable Student Support Assistants for a government client serving various cities in the UAE including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Al Ain, Ajman, and Khor Fakkan. The role focuses on supporting Students of Determination by providing essential classroom, behavioral, and physical assistance to foster a secure, inclusive, and motivating educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist educators in executing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's requirements.
• Adjust learning resources as directed to best accommodate student needs.
• Help students engage with classroom activities and lessons on a daily basis.
• Promote autonomy in learning and active participation within the classroom.
• Escort students during transitions such as class changes, recess, and transport boarding.
• Support students in physical mobility, ensuring proper positioning and use of adaptive tools.
• Provide personal assistance including hygiene and feeding when necessary.
• Maintain student safety by proactively managing any physical risks.
• Carry out authorized behavioral management strategies and encourage positive behavioral interventions.
• Resolve challenging behaviors calmly and patiently.
• Encourage social engagement and friendships throughout the school day.
• Offer emotional support to boost students' confidence and self-worth.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in English with teachers, therapists, and families.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including class teachers and special needs professionals.
• Accurately document student progress, incidents, and daily achievements.

Requirements

• Educational Qualification: At least a High School Certificate or higher.
• Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role such as shadow teacher, teaching assistant, caregiver, nursery assistant, or special needs support.
• Language Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication in English.
• Physical Fitness: Must be medically and physically capable to assist with student mobility and ensure safety.
• Personal Attributes: Demonstrates exceptional patience, care, empathy, and resilience.
