Storekeeper

About the Role

Located in Liwa, Abu Dhabi, the Plant Storekeeper is tasked with overseeing daily operations within the plant warehouse, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory management of spare parts, tools, consumables, and materials essential for plant functions. The position helps maintain uninterrupted production through precise inventory tracking, material availability assurance, and adherence to company policies, safety standards, and inventory controls.

Core Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming goods to validate against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
• Ensure proper storage with accurate labeling and designated placement of materials.
• Issue materials following authorized requisitions and sustain thorough documentation for all warehouse transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness within warehouse and storage spaces.
• Monitor and sustain stock within defined minimum and maximum inventory limits.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Maintenance teams to replenish stocks timely.
• Report any damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, or expired stock items to management promptly.

Inventory Management

• Keep accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.
• Perform regular stock counts daily through annually, reconciling inventory discrepancies.
• Implement stock rotation and preservation techniques to maintain material quality.
• Prepare for and support internal and external audits regarding inventory accuracy.

Coordination and Documentation

• Liaise with Procurement, Maintenance, Operations, and Finance departments regarding material needs.
• Generate inventory, stock movement, and material consumption reports.
• Maintain comprehensive filing systems for relevant documents such as purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and material issue vouchers.
• Support yearly inventory verification and asset audits.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Ensure warehouse activities comply fully with company health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Manage hazardous materials storage per regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain safe working conditions and enforce proper use of handling equipment and personal protective gear.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• At least three years of experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or Inventory Controller in industrial, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, or construction sectors.
• Preferably experienced with mechanical, electrical, and industrial spare parts management.
• Knowledge of ERP or inventory management software is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• In-depth understanding of warehouse processes and inventory management principles.
• Familiarity with handling mechanical, electrical, and industrial spare parts.
• Good grasp of stock control procedures and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to use ERP or inventory systems efficiently.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous record-keeping skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical precision.
• Capability to work independently in a remote desert environment.
