About the Position

The Stockperson / Cartpusher plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming shopping environment. This role involves gathering shopping carts from various areas including cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters and returning them safely to designated spots utilizing Walmart-approved processes. Through courteous interactions and a strong safety focus, this position supports smooth store operations while fostering retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from all designated areas and return them to proper storage locations as per company procedures while maintaining accurate logs.
• Promptly respond to requests from registers and customer service, assisting customers with carrying items and verifying purchase receipts when needed.
• Undertake periodic cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep, adhering to guidelines on chemical use, disposal, and safe handling of equipment. Conduct necessary equipment inspections before use.
• Follow all safety and emergency protocols including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines to ensure safety for customers and colleagues.
• Utilize required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps, and comply with company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
• Be adaptable to various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands and contribute to consistent, high-quality store operations.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks in a busy environment efficiently and accurately, including restocking and recovery duties.
• Maintain energy and focus during overnight or extended shifts through effective time and energy management.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive stock organization and zoning tasks with consistent attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.90 per hour.
