Senior Process Engineer - Operations Engineering

Primary Responsibilities

• Support daily process optimization by monitoring system and equipment performance to meet production targets and product quality standards. Provide operation teams with actionable recommendations when deviations occur. Collaborate with chemical suppliers to evaluate chemical performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead the Panel Review Meeting for all Technical Management of Change (MoC) proposals, assessing process improvement initiatives to categorize them as internal projects within Dukhan Operation, RES, or as Project Initiation Notes (PIN) for Vice President (VP) project approval based on initial assessment.
• Draft the Project Initiation Note Statement of Requirements (PIN-SOR), ensuring alignment with VP procedures, QatarEnergy standards, Shell Design and Engineering Practices (DEP), and approved standards to fully address asset owner requirements.
• Conduct adequacy assessments of existing facilities focusing on optimization, identifying any bottlenecks or performance constraints, and applying best practices in process optimization to enhance operational integrity.
• Identify and evaluate technology options for feasibility and conceptual optimization studies to align with business goals. Engage in external studies by providing inputs and reviewing outcomes. Analyze established and emerging processes and technologies aimed at operational, maintenance, or Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) improvements, utilizing projects and field trials as needed.
• Deliver process engineering support for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) projects including preparation and review of Heat and Material Balances (HMB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), datasheets, process descriptions, and line lists relating to process and utility systems. Define and review operational philosophies encompassing normal steady-state, transient conditions (start-up, shutdown, upset), and pressure relief scenarios for process and utility systems.

Experience and Skills Required

• 10 to 12 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector with at least 8 years serving as a Senior Process Engineer.
• Proven expertise in process optimization, concept engineering, detailed design, commissioning and start-up of Oil & Gas facilities. Experience with feasibility studies and project engineering is advantageous.
• Strong command of written and verbal English communication.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (B.Sc., B.Tech, or B.E.).
