Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer based in Ireland to join a partner company focused on delivering data-driven reporting solutions. This position involves working remotely and collaborating closely with clients from diverse environments to develop, implement, and support SQL database solutions. The role offers a mix of development, consulting, and user support responsibilities, requiring both technical expertise and strong communication abilities to translate business needs into effective technical implementations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Interact directly with clients, managers, and key stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements and business objectives.
• Design and implement SQL-based solutions and reporting configurations tailored to business needs.
• Remotely access client systems to install, configure, maintain, and support reporting software applications.
• Analyze client systems to identify pertinent data sources across multiple platforms.
• Perform data extraction, analysis, and interpretation from various databases and business applications.
• Evaluate existing database designs, including data structures and relationships, to facilitate new implementation projects.
• Create and manage SQL database objects such as views, stored procedures, functions, and tables.
• Apply fixes, updates, and performance enhancements within Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Diagnose and resolve database, connectivity, and network-related issues.
• Engage with Windows Server environments and coordinate with client IT teams as necessary.
• Conduct training sessions and provide user guidance to ensure effective adoption of software solutions.
• Provide continuous post-implementation support while assuming full ownership of projects from initiation through completion.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience working professionally with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Advanced skills in SQL querying, including complex joins, aggregations, subqueries, and debugging.
• Competency in crafting and maintaining SQL views, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects.
• Strong grasp of relational database principles and data structure concepts.
• Experience operating within Windows Server infrastructures.
• Fundamental understanding of networking, including knowledge of permissions, firewalls, ports, and DNS configurations.
• Proven ability to remotely access and support client infrastructure effectively.
• Capability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges with practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence in engaging non-technical stakeholders directly.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and take responsibility for project delivery.
• Detail-oriented, methodical, and self-driven, especially when troubleshooting issues.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Familiarity with bookkeeping and financial frameworks such as nominal ledgers, trial balances, and sales/purchase ledgers.
• Experience with financial accounting software or ERP systems.
• Knowledge of deploying and supporting applications via IIS.
• Understanding of APIs, application integrations, and JSON format environments.
• Exposure to other SQL dialects like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with additional database management systems beyond Microsoft SQL Server.
• Basic knowledge or experience in C# development is advantageous.
