Software Engineer

Position Overview

Release Recovery seeks a Software Engineer skilled in full-stack development to create, enhance, and sustain digital solutions that improve access to quality addiction and mental health care. This role offers significant ownership of web and mobile applications, backend services, and infrastructure, directly impacting students, clients, and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance full-stack web and mobile applications utilizing React, React Native, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Build and support backend systems and APIs leveraging Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful services, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud services on AWS infrastructure.
• Create accessible, responsive, and high-performing user interfaces.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and testable code ensuring system reliability.
• Establish, monitor, and analyze product analytics and event tracking using Amplitude to evaluate user engagement and feature usage.
• Diagnose and enhance application performance and overall system health.
• Translate product requirements into technical plans and oversee feature development from conception through to deployment.
• Manage engineering tasks, prioritize work, and actively participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure user experience aligns with brand standards and accessibility guidelines.
• Support production releases, perform testing and deployment activities, quickly resolve production issues, and contribute to process automation and tooling.
• Ensure all systems comply with HIPAA and relevant data security and privacy regulations.

Candidate Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient full-stack development skills including frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and backend expertise with Node.js, PostgreSQL, REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Experience deploying and managing production systems on AWS or comparable cloud services.
• Strong understanding of database design, backend architectures, and API responsiveness.
• Competence working across web and mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and Notion.
• Ability to independently drive features from ideation to launch in dynamic environments.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical teams.
• Skilled problem solver who balances rapid development with sustainable maintainability.
• Adaptable to startup or fast-growth settings with mission-driven goals.
• Bonus qualifications include experience in health tech, educational or socially impactful organizations, React Native/mobile app deployment, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
• Willingness for occasional after-hours work for releases or urgent fixes and travel for team collaboration events.

Compensation

Salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
