Role Overview

The Senior Logistics Coordinator position is a full-time role based on-site in Mississauga, Ontario. The incumbent will oversee the entire freight movement process across Canada and the United States. Key duties include shipment planning and scheduling, securing carrier capacity, and coordinating shipments involving dry van, reefer, intermodal, drayage, flatbed, LTL, and FTL modes. The coordinator will track shipment progress, resolve any delays that arise, and maintain regular, proactive communication with both carriers and customers for each shipment.

Daily tasks entail updating transportation and inventory management systems, preparing all necessary cross-border shipment documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards. This role additionally requires close collaboration with internal teams to optimize routing, manage costs, and enhance service quality and operational efficiency continuously.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong analytical abilities to evaluate shipment data, optimize routes, and solve logistical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate amongst carriers, customers, and internal teams and provide timely shipment updates.
• Customer service expertise to professionally manage inquiries, handle escalations, and sustain positive, long-lasting client relationships.
• Inventory management proficiency to monitor freight movements, maintain accurate records, and support warehouse or yard operations.
• Understanding of supply chain management to grasp end-to-end logistics and contribute to efficiency and cost containment.
• Relevant experience in freight brokerage, transportation, or logistics coordination, especially involving cross-border Canada-US operations.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations, documentation requirements, and best industry practices.
• Competence in using logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and common office applications such as spreadsheets and email.
• Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or related areas, or equivalent professional experience.
