About the Role
Join an empowered and innovative team at MNP as a Senior Accountant in our Quality and Ethics division, where your impact supports the firm's integrity and compliance. This role is pivotal in advising and ensuring adherence to ethical standards, managing risks related to quality and regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of ethical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Managers, Directors, and Partners to guide and assist team members in adopting and implementing professional conduct and ethics standards including the Canadian CPA Rules, PCAOB Ethics & Independence Rules, and SEC Auditor Independence Rules.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with professional regulations and internal policies.
- Coordinate and review client press releases to keep the firm's prohibited investment listings accurate and current.
- Contribute to the creation of timely and high-quality ethics-focused thought leadership and training materials for the firm's educational programs.
- Participate in innovating work processes and integrating new technology solutions related to ethics management.
- Maintain readiness to travel as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation completed.
- Two to three years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficient in verbal and written English; knowledge of French is an asset.
- Familiarity with Canadian provincial/territorial CPA Rules of Professional Conduct, especially independence and conflict of interest regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to high-quality standards.
- Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Collaborative attitude with strong communication, relationship building, and leadership capabilities.
- Additional knowledge of IESBA International Code of Ethics and AICPA Code of Professional Conduct is advantageous.
