Job Overview
The Revenue Optimization Executive plays a key role in supporting the Revenue Management team by overseeing assigned routes to maximize revenue. The position involves ensuring optimal flight utilization and implementing strategies in line with the company’s objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth analysis of flights and route performance to develop strategic, long-term business plans aligned with company goals.
- Evaluate traffic reports to assess destination performance, identify emerging trends or issues, and propose effective corrective actions or alternatives.
- Continuously monitor revenue and seat utilization on assigned routes; collaborate with country managers, stations, commercial teams and GSAs to recommend flight additions or cancellations based on demand patterns.
- Handle group and individual bookings and quotations; liaise with stations and sales support to follow up on group partial payments and detect any misuse of bookings by agents or travel agencies.
- Maintain and update daily group and inventory logs for allocated routes; initiate tactical promotional fares during periods of low demand.
- Use financial reports and other resources to determine break-even pricing for tickets, and identify optimal seat factor and yield combinations to ensure route profitability.
- Conduct regular benchmark analyses on assigned routes to manage medium- and long-term revenue goals.
- Contribute to fare class planning and adjustments to reflect demand fluctuations throughout the year.
- Carry out competitive market research using all available tools to gather data on competitor fares, schedules, and products; maintain an up-to-date database for reference.
- Generate routine and ad-hoc function-related reports as needed.
- Foster strong interdepartmental relationships, especially with commercial teams, to gather feedback on competitors’ prices and offerings.
- Coordinate with Marketing and Corporate Communications divisions to plan promotional campaigns including sector targeting, duration, and pricing.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by line management; role responsibilities may evolve over time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two years experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role within the aviation or hospitality sectors; experience with low-cost airlines is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills to assess data, identify problems, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Proficient with technology systems and tools, including an advanced level of Microsoft Excel (including Macro functions).
- Excellent financial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Cost-conscious with strong persuasive, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to balance technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to implement initiatives that boost company objectives and support KPI achievement.
- Skilled at interpreting market trends and financial data to drive profitable revenue management and pricing strategies.
