Restaurant Utility Worker

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and operating smoothly. This role supports the upkeep of both the building and equipment through routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Complete all training required by the employer
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-kept restaurant environment
• Carry out both scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks and basic upkeep work
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on restaurant equipment
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment to identify issues
• Handle minor lighting repairs and similar small fixes
• Perform deep-cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location
• Read and follow equipment manuals and work orders
• Regularly check grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for maintenance needs
• Complete basic repairs when needed
• Understand and apply safety procedures, laws, operating instructions, and maintenance guidelines
• Keep maintenance logs accurate, current, and organized
• Follow company standards, policies, and procedures at all times
• Work safely and comply with all safety rules
• Stay flexible and take on additional duties as needed to support restaurant operations
• Escalate human resources or risk concerns to the General Manager and District Manager right away
• Raise other issues to the supervisor when appropriate

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Reliable transportation is required
• Full-time availability must be 32 to 40 hours per week
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Leadership ability, good organization, and the ability to work well with others are important
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb occasionally, including using ladders
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, including overhead lifting
• Must be able to use hands and wrists continuously for grasping and detailed tasks
• Must be able to communicate clearly by speaking, reading, and writing
• Must be able to see and hear well enough to notice and respond to surroundings
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in hot and cold conditions and around food and outdoor allergens
• Must be able to work safely with restaurant equipment, including knives, fryers, and other hazardous equipment
