Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Resident Housing Officer for the northern Dublin area on a fixed-term contract through to 31st December 2026. Reporting to the Resident Housing Manager, this role contributes to the Operations Department's mission to provide essential housing services including tenancy management, estate upkeep, community engagement, rent administration, and property maintenance coordination. The position offers a salary range of e282ac45,830 to e282ac63,017 depending on experience.

Clfaid is committed to quality housing provision across Ireland, focusing on delivering well-maintained homes and supporting vibrant, safe communities. The Operations team works closely with other departments to expand housing stock and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lettings and maintenance teams to manage the turnaround of vacant properties quickly and cost-effectively.
  • Manage homes efficiently in line with Clfaid and local policies, approving lets appropriately.
  • Provide prospective residents with informed advice regarding housing options and tenancy obligations.
  • Support tenancy sustainment by directing residents to necessary support services and safeguarding their welfare.
  • Address tenancy breaches unrelated to rent arrears, including anti-social behaviour and property damage; represent Clfaid at regulatory and court hearings.
  • Promote safe, welcoming communities by encouraging resident involvement and building relationships with community groups and external providers.
  • Conduct property and estate inspections, liaising with repair teams and managing agents as needed, including participation on Owner Management Company boards.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by collaborating across teams, assisting with new property acquisitions, and participating in policy development.
  • Manage complaints effectively in accordance with organisational procedures and promote continuous service improvements.
  • Uphold Clfaid values, maintain high standards of discretion, health, safety, and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

  • Shows eagerness to learn and adapt.
  • Available to occasionally work outside standard hours for community meetings.
  • Experienced with IT systems, particularly Excel and CRM software.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills and the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent problem-solving and attentive to detail.
  • Effective team player with self-motivation and good listening skills.
  • Skilled in influencing, negotiation, project management, and report writing.

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least one year experience in housing services or a similar customer-facing housing role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in housing, social care, property, or related disciplines, or actively pursuing one.
  • Professional credentials such as ICSH, CIH, IAVI, or IPA are desirable.
  • Knowledgeable about housing law, GDPR, Residential Tenancies Board regulations, and housing regulatory standards.
  • Holds a full, clean driving licence.
  • Possession or commitment to obtaining a Property Services Regulatory Authority Licence is preferred.
  • Experience with housing and property services including lettings, allocations, and tenancy sustainment.
  • Willingness to engage in forums, working groups, and committees.
