About Radius Care

Position Location and Hours

This role is based at Radius Fulton, 530 Hillside Rd, Caversham, Dunedin. It involves full-time work totaling 32 hours weekly, scheduled on a rotating 24/7 roster inclusive of night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Role Overview

This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in person-centred care and enhance critical thinking abilities. Key responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, creating care plans, delivering high-quality care, evaluating outcomes for residents and their families, monitoring changes in residents’ health and behavior, administering medications, and assisting with daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive and current records and documentation.
  • Provide education and guidance to colleagues on medication side-effects.
  • Monitor residents’ conditions closely and initiate appropriate emergency treatments when necessary.
  • Manage wound care effectively.
  • Offer reassurance and educational support to residents’ families.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Proficiency in computer use and effective reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with empathy towards residents and their families.
  • Availability and willingness to work on rostered shifts.
  • Preferably at least one year of experience as a registered nurse in New Zealand; however, this is not mandatory.
