Role Overview

The Regional Controller for the LATAM region is responsible for managing all daily accounting operations and overseeing financial reporting within their designated countries. This role entails leading the monthly financial close process, preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and supporting local audits and tax compliance. The controller also ensures adherence to SOX compliance, evaluates local contracts, fosters ERP system enhancements, and supervises the regional financial control team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the daily accounting functions for assigned region entities.
• Coordinate and lead the monthly financial closing and reporting activities using Oracle, supporting U.S. Corporate Accounting, Tax, and Treasury.
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet analyses.
• Collaborate with the International Project Accounting Manager, Regional Finance Director, Sales, and Operations to ensure comprehensive revenue and invoicing recording.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting for Corporate Treasury as necessary.
• Support local statutory audit and tax filing coordination and completion.
• Promote and facilitate enhancements and training related to the company’s ERP system.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant SOX controls.
• Review and assess local contracts under the financial controllers' responsibility.
• Lead and manage the local controllership team.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth financial operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
• Professional qualification as a CA or CPA.
• Between 5 and 10 years of post-qualification experience in industrial or B2B sectors.
• Familiarity with international accounting standards, including foreign currency translations.
• Knowledge of local financial reporting and tax regulations in international territories.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Experience with Oracle financial modules and Discoverer reporting tools is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for interaction at all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
• Self-driven with a commitment to excellence, demonstrated leadership, and team-building capabilities.
• Organized with strong time management and methodical problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of applying business acumen through analytical and numerical skills.
