Overview
Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is currently seeking committed Property Managers to assist Defence members and their families by managing housing services in the Perth region. This full-time, on-site role involves delivering high-quality tenancy, inspection, and property management services without weekend requirements. About DHA
Established in 1988 under the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987, DHA provides suitable housing and related services to ADF members and their families supporting Defence operational needs. DHA administers a growing portfolio with housing for over 17,200 ADF members and families, manages rent allowance for more than 16,000 members living in private rentals, and delivers housing allocation and booking services for approximately 60,000 members in DHA and on-base accommodation.
Team Environment
The Service Operations team within DHA’s Service Delivery Group plays a key role in ensuring Defence communities have access to quality, well-maintained housing. In the Perth area, the team handles tenancy, landlord, and property management tasks including maintenance coordination and tenant support. With expansion in the Rockingham area, DHA is growing its workforce to meet increasing demand from Defence families seeking housing support.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough property inspections to evaluate conditions.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance and repairs to maintain property standards.
- Provide effective support and communication to tenants, landlords, and contractors.
- Manage customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly with a professional approach.
- Collaborate with technical specialists for expert advice on complex building and maintenance issues.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has strong written and oral communication abilities, excellent customer service focus, exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, adaptability under pressure, and holds a valid driver’s license. While prior experience in property management or real estate is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
Work Conditions and Benefits
- Annual salary range from $87,018 to $94,092 plus 15.4% superannuation.
