Position Overview
The Project Manager role involves steering the entire Headquarters Relocation project from initial planning through execution to closure, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance requirements. They lead project phases including design, construction, fit-out, relocation, handover, and close-out, coordinating efforts among internal teams, external consultants, contractors, government bodies, and the landlord.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive project planning and execution, ensuring project milestones and deliverables meet approved timelines, budgets, and standards.
- Lead coordination and decision-making across all project stages, managing interfaces among stakeholders.
- Oversee governance processes, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level reporting while controlling schedules, risks, dependencies, and corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, financial regulations, quality and safety standards, government regulations, and lease administration.
- Handle procurement, commercial operations, and budgetary management, including cost control and forecasting.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, ensuring accuracy and lifecycle integration.
- Produce final project reports capturing lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress and compliance with technical and safety standards.
- Engage with landlord and authorities for design, construction, approvals, and contractual matters.
- Implement project governance frameworks and facilitate various governance meetings.
- Serve as main liaison for communication among internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
- Drive sustainability and workplace optimization initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency.
- Manage contracts and vendors, ensuring compliance, performance, and proper procurement strategies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
- Mandatory PMP certification or an equivalent credential in project management.
- At least 10 years of project management experience, with demonstrated leadership in large-scale, complex projects.
- Proven success in delivering major capital projects such as office buildings and corporate headquarters, especially within Qatar.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments and projects larger than 25,000 sqm.
- Comprehensive expertise across design, construction, procurement, contract administration, commercial management, and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with project controls, governance, and commercial management tools.
Additional Information
The position is primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites. It involves coordination with contractors, landlord representatives, and participation in external and internal governance meetings. The role requires attention to operational continuity and environmental sustainability goals.
