Role Overview
We are seeking a Textile Production Specialist with 3 to 4 years of experience in garment or textile production to oversee and coordinate the manufacturing process for the women’s ethnic wear category, including kurtis, suits, and similar apparel. The candidate will ensure smooth production flow, quality adherence, and timely order fulfillment by collaborating closely with artisans, job workers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, track, and supervise daily garment production activities from cutting through finishing and packaging.
- Coordinate effectively with karigars, job workers, and vendors to ensure orders are completed on schedule.
- Maintain comprehensive production schedules, order quantities, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor all production stages—cutting, stitching, embroidery, finishing, and packing—to guarantee adherence to designs, measurements, and quality standards.
- Perform regular quality checks and identify any defective items, managing rework processes as needed.
- Keep meticulous records of pieces sent to and received from each artisan or job worker.
- Manage production wastage, discrepancies, and shortages, implementing corrective measures promptly.
- Ensure timely availability of all necessary materials, including fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Work alongside the design and sampling teams to ensure bulk production matches approved samples.
- Identify and address any bottlenecks in production to enhance efficiency and reduce delays.
- Provide ongoing updates and detailed reports regarding production status and pending orders to management.
- Develop strong professional relationships with reliable karigars and production partners.
- Support management with capacity planning, production costing, and supplier evaluation when required.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of experience in textile or garment production, preferably in women’s ethnic wear such as kurtis and suits.
- In-depth understanding of garment manufacturing processes including cutting, stitching, embroidery, finishing, and packing.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment assembly techniques.
- Excellent follow-up, coordination, and multitasking abilities.
- Meticulous attention to product quality, quantity control, and deadline management.
- Good communication and negotiation skills, especially for coordinating with karigars and job workers.
- Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets to maintain and update production documentation.
- Proactive, organized, and adaptable to working in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
