Produce Clerk, Department Second Produce

About the Role

Sobeys is looking for a Produce Clerk for the second produce department in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. In this part-time, onsite position, you’ll help create a positive shopping experience by delivering helpful service, keeping produce operations running smoothly, and supporting the team when the Produce Manager is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in a courteous and professional manner and respond to their produce-related needs.
• Step in to oversee produce staff when the Produce Manager is not present.
• Encourage a supportive workplace by coaching and helping develop team members.
• Prepare customer produce orders accurately.
• Receive incoming produce deliveries and orders.
• Carry out day-to-day produce preparation tasks.
• Set up and present produce merchandise in an appealing way.
• Apply SMART retailing practices in Atlantic locations.
• Help keep the department clean and sanitary.
• Follow all company procedures, standards, and operating requirements.
• Handle administrative work as needed.

Requirements

• Comfort working independently in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Strong speaking and writing communication skills.
• Reliable work habits and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• High school completion.
• At least 12 months of relevant experience.
