Procurement Category Lead

About the role

T&G Global Limited is strengthening its procurement capability and is looking for a Procurement Category Lead to help shape a function that drives meaningful commercial outcomes. This role sits close to the centre of the business and is designed for someone who wants to influence how procurement is done, not just execute transactions.

Working alongside the Procurement Manager, you will help define the direction of procurement across the organisation while staying hands-on with sourcing, supplier management, and commercial decision-making. The role combines strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery and offers the chance to contribute to new frameworks, processes, and governance for procurement at T&G.

What you'll do

You will manage a diverse portfolio of procurement categories and create category strategies that generate value beyond simple cost reduction. Your work will include end-to-end sourcing activity, contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and lifecycle oversight for commercial agreements.

In this position, you will partner with teams across Finance, Operations, IT, Growing, Logistics, and other corporate areas. By building trusted relationships, you will support smarter business decisions and act as a commercial advisor who helps solve complex challenges.

You will also contribute to building the structures, systems, and standards that will support the future growth of procurement at T&G.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate already understands procurement, but also knows how to influence people and build trust. You should be curious, comfortable asking difficult questions, and able to challenge assumptions in a constructive way.

Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement would be valuable, along with confidence managing end-to-end RFPs, negotiating agreements, and working with suppliers. The role suits someone who can think commercially, stay flexible in uncertain situations, and deliver practical outcomes while helping shape change.
