Role Overview
The Process Improvement Manager will be part of JD.com's dynamic team environment that values collaboration, proactivity, and delivering top-quality results. This role emphasizes driving cost efficiencies and streamlining logistics and delivery operations through data-driven analysis and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement cost reduction strategies and enhance operational efficiencies by analyzing data and refining logistics processes.
- Standardize and optimize in-station procedures, including receiving, sorting, route planning, and loading operations.
- Develop detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and work instructions to guide operational teams.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define system requirements, ensuring software functionality and design align with operational needs.
- Create performance and quality measurement reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Design training materials and conduct train-the-trainer sessions to empower internal teams.
- Lead root cause analyses utilizing Lean, 5S, or comparable methodologies to address performance issues and improve key in-station metrics.
- Work closely with station teams to understand challenges and champion effective process changes.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture by educating frontline leaders on lean management principles.
- Establish and implement routines and mechanisms that foster ongoing enhancements in delivery station operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in logistics and delivery or distribution sectors.
- Background in retail or e-commerce logistics is highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in process improvement and development of SOPs.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
- Proficient in English for working communication; knowledge of German or French is preferred.
- Strong communicator with effective coordination and system implementation skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) tools to drive improvements.
- Preferred work locations include Oberhausen, Munich, and Berlin; however, candidates from other German cities are encouraged to apply.
