The Scion Group specializes in residential property management, focused on maintaining high standards of care and operational excellence. They are currently recruiting for a Porter to support the upkeep of residential communities.

Position Overview

The Porter/Gatekeeper role offers an opportunity to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of common areas in residential properties, both indoors and outdoors. This role involves routine upkeep tasks such as landscaping, cleaning, minor repairs, and assisting with general maintenance and moving services. Candidates should be motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain property condition following company standards, OSHA rules, and industry practices.
• Perform physically demanding work for asset upkeep and hazard prevention.
• Continuously clear trash and debris from common areas.
• Sweep curbs, parking, walkways, and stairs on a set schedule.
• Repair and maintain stair treads, exterior lighting, replacing bulbs and reporting needs.
• Handle lawn care including mowing, trimming beds, raking leaves, applying lawn care treatments, watering, and re-seeding as necessary.
• Install seasonal plants, shrubs, rocks, and water features; prune vegetation as directed.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems and fountains.
• Clean and maintain pools and spas per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines, including minor equipment repairs.
• Understand emergency procedures including water, gas shutoffs, sewer and fuse panel locations.
• Promote safety to reduce property damage or injury risks.
• Clear drainage grills of debris and undertake pressure washing of exterior surfaces.
• Assist with snow removal as needed.
• Participate in required training sessions.
• Wear company uniform and maintain a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or trade school certification plus at least one year of experience in lawn or grounds maintenance, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Able to follow instructions, document labor and materials accurately.
• Dependable and punctual with ability to manage pressure and flexible schedule including weekends and after-hours emergencies.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Physical ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 100 pounds when necessary.

• The job site is specifically at the assigned property location.
• This is an "on-call" role except during approved paid time off.
