Job Summary

The dispatcher role involves coordinating directly with HDM’s clients and truck drivers to manage the towing fleet and assignment workload. Office staff support dispatchers, provide excellent customer service, and perform various administrative duties as required.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Identify the most suitable driver/operator and truck to meet customer needs and relay call details effectively to the driver for task completion.
• Maintain clear communication regarding status updates to all relevant parties during the service, including any changes.
• Liaise with drivers to record invoice numbers, mileage, and pricing into the computer system.
• Provide customers with precise rate information, mileage, and estimated arrival times.
• Accurately interpret and relay mapping and routing details to drivers.
• Demonstrate consistent professional behavior, including punctuality, attendance, and personal grooming.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Preference given to candidates with prior dispatch experience, though it is not mandatory.
• Proficient computer and internet skills, and familiarity with standard office equipment.
• A minimum of three years of experience in customer service roles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and operators.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and data entry accuracy.
• Able to maintain performance under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
