Network Inspector

Overview

Higgins invites applicants for the role of Network Inspector based in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. This role focuses on ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance of the local and national road networks within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections following contract mandates and the Fault Identification Guide (FIG) on local and national roads.
• Track network conditions, safety metrics, and performance against defined Levels of Service standards.
• Detect and document defects, hazards, risks, and compliance issues with precision.
• Gather, analyze, and maintain accurate data pertaining to inspections and assets.
• Assess conditions to support ongoing maintenance strategies and recommend technical treatments.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and operational teams to secure optimal network results.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Respond to incidents and fulfill rostered after-hours duties as necessary.
• Travel across the wider Hawke's Bay network as required to conduct inspections.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in roading, civil construction, infrastructure, or maintenance fields.
• Familiarity with road maintenance, asset management, or network inspection processes.
• Keen attention to detail to accurately identify and evaluate network issues and risks.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and sound decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and ability to build stakeholder relationships.
• Comfort with technology, including the use of tablets, mobile devices, and computer systems.
• Proactive commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
• Possession of a full New Zealand driver's license.
