Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Interior Designer to join our Erina office and actively contribute to our working environment. This hands-on position involves close collaboration with studio leadership across distinguished residential projects in Sydney, the Central Coast, and Newcastle. Responsibilities cover all phases from initial briefing, conceptual design, documentation, consultant coordination, through to project delivery. The selected candidate will take ownership of project stages, help steer creative direction, and maintain design fidelity throughout all stages, requiring confidence, initiative, and comprehensive knowledge of a design studio’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create design concepts, presentations, and select material palettes.
• Generate documentation, schedules, and specifications through all project phases.
• Prepare visual presentations and client-facing materials.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, and contractor coordination sessions.
• Assist with FF&E sourcing, supplier communications, and project administration.
• Contribute innovative ideas, research, and design insights during the creative process.
• Support multiple projects in high-end residential and commercial sectors.
• Enhance the studio's culture through care, commitment, and enthusiasm for the work.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a qualified Interior Designer with 3-4 years of direct residential design experience in Australia, including familiarity with local compliance and supplier landscapes. They should have strong technical skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both on-site and at their workstation. Initiative, clear communication, excellent time management, and team collaboration are essential. A passion for residential design and desire to thrive in a studio that values quality work and process is critical.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Minimum 3-4 years post-graduate professional experience in Australian residential design with a strong portfolio showcasing design creativity and technical documentation.
• High proficiency in ArchiCAD, especially in technical detailing and construction documentation.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Competent hand sketching and visual communication capabilities.
• Thorough understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, including client presentations.
• Experience working in a PC-based environment.
• Possession of a valid Australian Driver’s License.
