Job description

Overview

This role involves strategizing, designing, and executing compensation and remuneration programs aligned with the Bank of Zambia's objectives and market standards. It also includes managing the bank's Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement remuneration and compensation policies for the Bank.
  • Carry out annual market analyses to evaluate salary and employment conditions across all personnel categories and advise on necessary changes.
  • Create suitable salary frameworks and oversee the administration of salaries, staff benefits, and loans consistent with approved policies.
  • Analyze human capital data and generate tailored reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare regular reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) for management and board to update on departmental activities.
  • Review and monitor departmental budget reports monthly.
  • Facilitate training sessions to raise awareness of the Bank’s HR policies and employment terms.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five 'O' level credits or better.
  • Postgraduate degree such as MSc, MA, or MBA in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Valid professional practice license.
  • At least five years of pertinent work experience.

  • In-depth understanding and application of labour laws and related legislation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business processes.
  • Use of statistical methods in business settings.
  • Inventiveness and precision in work.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Sharp analytical and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency with Oracle, Microsoft Excel, and other software tools.
  • Expertise in leveraging IT to enhance business functions.

Employment will adhere to the Bank of Zambia's specified Conditions of Service.
