Manager - Active Transport

About the Role

Lead and oversee Queensland's active transport investment programs as Manager (Active Transport), directing a high-achieving team responsible for complex infrastructure investments and procurement activities. Provide strategic guidance to senior executives and government officials to shape sustainable transport outcomes statewide, focusing on safer, more connected communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a skilled team managing complex active transport infrastructure investments and procurement projects.
• Review and analyze program funding, budgets, and delivery timelines against approved targets; communicate insights and financial status to senior management.
• Identify and address strategic issues and risks, preparing reports and delivering advice to executives and government ministers.
• Build and sustain effective partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders; represent the department in various forums and committees.
• Supervise procurement procedures within the Transport Strategy and Planning branch to ensure timely delivery of critical projects.

Essential Requirements

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing complex programs and diverse professional teams.
• In-depth understanding of government procurement processes and ability to implement practical applications.
• Proven capability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and influence positive results for active transport investments.
• Knowledge of program management methodologies for effective oversight, reporting, and successful outcomes.
• Commitment to ethical standards, probity, governance, accurate record-keeping, and risk mitigation.
• Must pass a criminal history check due to access to sensitive information.
