Logistics Manager - Export & Import Operations

Job Overview

We are actively searching for a skilled Logistics Manager to lead and oversee our export and import activities at a manufacturing facility based in Doha, Qatar. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all international logistics operations are carried out efficiently, in strict compliance with regulations, and in a cost-effective manner. This encompasses managing customs clearance procedures, preparing shipping documents, overseeing container management, and coordinating freight services.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of five years’ experience in logistics, shipping, and handling international trade operations.
• Demonstrable success in managing large volumes of containerized goods in import and export settings.
• Background in a manufacturing environment is essential.

• A Bachelor’s degree related to Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or similar fields.

Technical Expertise

• In-depth familiarity with Qatar Customs regulations, import/export protocols, and related trade compliance.
• Hands-on experience preparing and managing key shipping documents like Bills of Lading (B/L), Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin (COO), Export Permits (EPC), Bills of Arrival (BAL), and other trade documentation.
• Proficiency with ERP software, shipment tracking systems, and standard office tools such as Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of Incoterms, freight forwarding mechanisms, and global logistics operations.

Mandatory Competencies

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience in export and import logistics management.
• Expertise in navigating the customs clearance procedures and documentation as per Qatar’s regulations.
• Experience coordinating multi-modal freight operations including sea, air, and land transport.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
• Fluency in English is required.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of export and import logistics, from shipment to customs clearance and final delivery.
• Ensure all activities comply with Qatar Customs and international trade laws.
• Collaborate closely with freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs agents, and transport providers.
• Prepare and validate all necessary documentation related to export/import processes.
• Optimize container usage, scheduling of shipments, and freight expenditure.
• Manage substantial container shipments across diverse global trade routes.
• Monitor shipments continuously, addressing any issues such as delays, demurrage charges, cargo claims, or customs challenges efficiently.
• Maintain comprehensive logistics records and support audit processes.
• Keep abreast of worldwide freight market trends and suggest initiatives to reduce costs.
• Ensure punctual delivery of raw materials, finished products, and equipment.
