Role overview

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring site logistics so that construction, marine, and dredging works can progress safely and efficiently for Hudayriyat East Development and nearby developments in Abu Dhabi. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and internal teams to make sure logistics arrangements, site access, traffic flow, movement planning, and related controls are practical, compliant, and aligned with the approved project logistics strategy.

Key duties

• Act as a central point of coordination between contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and project staff to establish and maintain safe, workable logistics arrangements.
• Work with contractors, especially marine and dredging teams, to agree, coordinate, and deliver all required logistical support.
• Partner with health and safety teams so logistics activities are reviewed against safety requirements, risk assessments, and approvals.
• Support logistics consultants in creating logistics plans and operating systems.
• Maintain coordination across all contractors to ensure logistics activities are aligned and managed consistently.
• Contribute to traffic management planning and the development of related facilities.
• Review logistics submissions from contractors and verify that coordination requirements are met.
• Check that contractor logistics plans match the approved site logistics plan and work properly with other contractors.
• Identify contractor requirements and help deliver logistics support in a safe and compliant manner.
• Coordinate logistics activities with Hudayriyat Central and West Development to support an integrated approach.
• Review technical logistics submissions such as method statements, major plant and machinery movements, tower cranes, mobile cranes, site possessions, contractor coordination, health and safety briefings, and VIP visitor programmes.
• Help ensure safe and efficient logistics operations are maintained for land and sea-based activities supporting construction, marine, and dredging works.
• Support the development and management of the overall project logistics plan, including the scheduling of materials, plant, equipment, and personnel.
• Plan for traffic movement, circulation, parking, journey management, permitting, operating restrictions, surrounding impacts, use of permanent and temporary roads, site offices, labour camps, welfare facilities, protection of temporary and permanent assets, laydown and storage areas, construction environment management integration, waste disposal, access control, and site security.
• Ensure the facilities required under the project logistics plan are in place, properly managed, and kept fit for purpose.
• Continuously review the logistics plan, including marine and dredging proposals, and suggest revisions when construction programmes or activities change.
• Help prepare logistics guidelines and procedures for the project and support contractor implementation.
• Draft logistics guidance and procedural documents for contractors and developers.
• Review and approve logistics plans submitted by contractors.
• Lead and chair meetings with contractor representatives to confirm the logistics plan and procedures are understood and applied correctly.

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or an equivalent discipline. The role calls for at least 20 years of professional experience, including 5 years in a similar position. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction logistics for infrastructure and marine projects is required, along with at least 5 years of dealing with local authorities in Abu Dhabi. Strong written and spoken English skills are essential, together with the ability to prepare logistics plans and reports for large-scale projects.
