About JA Coffee
JA Coffee is a specialty importer of green coffee serving roasting companies throughout Canada and the United States. Our sourcing spans coffee-producing nations globally, and we are seeking a seasoned Logistics Manager to handle our international supply chain operations.
Position Overview
This full-time role is based in Montreal's West Island office and warehouse. The Logistics Manager will be accountable for managing the flow of green coffee from origin countries to our warehouses and customers, ensuring smooth international shipments, customs processing, warehouse oversight, inventory control, and transportation logistics with cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee coordination of international shipments to Canada and the USA.
- Manage all aspects of ocean freight (both Full Container Load and Less than Container Load) as well as inland transportation and maintain carrier relationships.
- Handle customs clearance processes, liaising closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure compliance.
- Schedule incoming container arrivals and organize warehouse receiving activities.
- Administer inventory management across multiple warehouse sites and maintain accurate stock records.
- Direct domestic shipping operations, including less than truckload (LTL), full truckload (FTL), parcel, and courier deliveries.
- Coordinate shipments to Amazon FBA centers, ensuring adherence to Amazon requirements.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Finance, and Warehouse departments to guarantee prompt delivery schedules.
- Monitor and analyze logistics costs, troubleshoot transport issues, and suggest improvements to logistics workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in roles related to international logistics, supply chain, or import/export functions.
- Proficient in managing customs clearance and international shipping documentation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ocean freight operations (FCL/LCL) and domestic transport modes (LTL/FTL).
- Experience managing warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Strong organizational abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or warehouse management software considered an advantage.
Additional Assets
- Background or experience in the coffee industry or handling agricultural imports.
- Exposure to logistics involving Amazon FBA.
- Understanding of Incoterms regulations.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese languages is a significant plus.
