Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a meticulous and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Riyadh. This role is crucial for managing the flow of materials, equipment, and resources supporting the successful execution of major construction and infrastructure projects throughout Saudi Arabia. You will be integral to ensuring timely delivery and operational efficiency for significant initiatives ranging from commercial developments to government mega-projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate transportation, delivery, and storage of construction materials and equipment to project locations.
• Create and maintain thorough logistics plans to ensure deliveries are on schedule and cost-efficient.
• Track shipments carefully, ensuring documentation accuracy and adherence to Saudi customs and transportation regulations.
• Work collaboratively with procurement teams to align logistics actions with project timelines and resource needs.
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with transportation providers to secure competitive pricing and quality service.
• Enforce compliance with safety standards such as ISO 45001 and foster a safety-conscious culture within logistics functions.
• Compile and deliver detailed reports on logistics performance, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective measures.
• Coordinate with project managers to resolve logistical issues or delays, minimizing impact on overall projects.
• Enhance inventory management processes to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
• Engage with government authorities to ensure compliance with local laws including GOSI and Saudi Labor Law.
• Support corporate sustainability goals by integrating environmentally friendly logistics practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience managing logistics within construction or engineering sectors.
• Skilled in using logistics software such as SAP, Oracle Transportation Management, or equivalent platforms.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi customs laws and transportation regulations.
• Proven expertise in inventory management and supply chain improvements.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and other relevant safety standards in logistics.
• Strong communication and negotiation capabilities.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CLTD) or equivalent credentials.
• Experience with large-scale projects especially within the GCC region.
• Understanding of green logistics and sustainability methodologies.
• Advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages.

Working Conditions

• The position is primarily office-based in Riyadh with periodic visits to construction sites and warehouses.
• Occasional travel across various regions of Saudi Arabia may be necessary.
• Standard office hours apply with potential overtime during critical phases.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required on site visits.
• Exposure to outdoor conditions and varying climates during field visits.
