Role overview

PE LIFTS GHANA is hiring a full-time Lift/Elevator Installer and Maintenance Officer based in Accra, Ghana. The role focuses on installing, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading lift and elevator systems. The position requires solid practical knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems, along with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.

Core duties

The selected candidate will handle installation work for lift and elevator systems, carry out routine servicing and maintenance, diagnose faults, complete repairs, support modernisation projects, and ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards. The role also includes documenting work completed, preparing reports, and maintaining good customer communication.

Required background

Applicants should have a diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. The employer is looking for someone with at least 3 to 5 years of practical experience in installing and maintaining lift or elevator systems.

Technical knowledge and working style

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems used in elevators is important. The candidate should be able to read blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams, and use the tools and equipment commonly required for installation and maintenance work.

Competencies expected

The ideal person should be comfortable solving problems quickly, paying close attention to detail, working safely at all times, communicating clearly with clients and team members, and handling physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items and working in confined spaces.

Licences, certifications, and work conditions

A valid electrician licence or mechanical technician licence is required. Certification in lift or elevator installation and maintenance would be an advantage. The job may involve flexible working hours, weekends, and holidays, as needed. The technician must also be willing to travel to different sites in Accra and nearby regions and be ready to respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
