About the Role

Holiday Inn Basildon invites applications for a dedicated Kitchen Porter to become an integral part of our kitchen team. This position is crucial in maintaining seamless kitchen operations by ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and organization, thereby supporting culinary staff to work effectively in a well-ordered environment.

Key Duties

• Efficiently clean dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen implements ensuring hygiene standards.
• Maintain tidiness and organization in all kitchen areas throughout shifts.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors; handle waste and recycling in an environmentally responsible way.
• Help with basic food prep activities like peeling and chopping vegetables.
• Receive, verify, and correctly store food and kitchen deliveries.
• Assist with kitchen opening and closing procedures.
• Sanitize cooking equipment and work surfaces as per hygiene protocols.
• Comply rigorously with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards at all times.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen personnel to facilitate smooth and efficient service delivery.
• Promptly report any issues relating to maintenance, hygiene, or safety concerns.
